What are Botox and fillers?

Botox is a substance created from Clostridium botulinum found naturally in lakes, soil, and forests. Dangerous in specific concentrations, the formulation used for medical and aesthetic treatments is perfectly safe and carefully controlled.

This treatment has numerous medical applications and is also FDA-approved for treating crow’s feet, forehead lines, and frown lines between the brows.

How do Botox and fillers work?

Botox works by altering the ability of treated muscles to go through their full range of motion. The treated muscles can still create normal facial expressions but won’t be strong enough to tug and pull your skin into lines and folds. 

Introducing dermal fillers underneath selective facial features is a safe and effective way to replace the lost skin structure and volume. Treatment typically takes about 30 minutes with immediate results and minimal post-operative discomfort.

Are Botox and fillers painful?

It only takes a few seconds for the team to place the injections. You might feel a slight pinch as the needle enters your skin, but there is no significant pain associated with Botox treatments. 

If you have experienced discomfort during other injectable treatments, let the team know when you book your visit. Topical numbing cream can help reduce sensations in the treatment area before your injections.

How long do Botox and filler results last?

It takes a few days for the full results of Botox and other neuromodulators to take effect. You can expect results to last around four months. At that point, you may notice your lines and wrinkles slowly returning.
